What a weekend!

We had a very eventful week/weekend! First off, Maddie turned six months! My baby girl is growing up and and growing up too fast if you ask me. She had an excellent check up on Friday weighing in at 15.10 lbs (50 percentile) and 27.5 inches long (95th percentile). I wonder where she gets her height from? Hmmm?? She also had her shots which of course always hurts me way more than it hurts her, she did great and was back to her happy self before we left the doctor's office. She also cut her first tooth on Saturday and started solids the same day. We started her on sweet potatoes which she loved! I then moved on to peas and she not only hated them but threw up the entire serving as well as the 5 oz bottle she had before the feeding! We got a great video of her shuddering at every bite pre throw up, it's the funniest thing to watch. Hopefully she'll learn to love them!

The past six months have been amazing! My sweet little girl makes me laugh everyday with her funny personality and sweet disposition. Everyone who meets her comments on how happy she is and how lucky we are. We are truly blessed and I thank God everyday for our precious gift.

BEACH

Maddie took her first trip to the coast this past weekend. We went to Garden City Beach along with Gram, Aunt Manda and Uncle Ben. Grand dad came a day later and surprised everyone! Maddie was happy to see him!!

Maddie loved the beach even though it was a little windy and the water was too cold to let her get wet and splash around but she still had a great time. It looks like my baby girl will love the beach just as much as her mom and dad!!!

Amanda & Ben's Wedding

Maddie attended her first wedding on March 28th 2010, a day after turning 5 months! She did great, the wedding was beautiful and everyone had a good time! I'll post some pics soon of Maddie with the bride and some others from that day. We're so happy for Amanda and Ben and thrilled to have Uncle Ben join the family!!!

Easter

The Easter bunny came to see Maddie, she liked her bunny rabbit that was in her basket but had no idea what was going on. In just a few short years, she'll catch on to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny and it will be a lot of fun!! What may not be fun is if she is "afraid" to sit on their laps...she didn't have that problem this year! :)

I was so sad to return to work on January 19th, luckily I'm on a part-time schedule and only work three days a week. I get to spend my Monday's and Friday's with my favorite little girl! On Tuesday and Thursday, Maddie is watched by a family friend, her name is Libby. Maddie loves Libby, she lights up when we drop her off at Libby's house. Libby also watches her grandson Luke and I'm told that Maddie and Luke are already buddies! I look forward to my texts from Libby with pictures of Maddie and Luke playing, it's the highlight of my day! On Wednesday, Claudette (better known as Gram) watches Maddie. I know Maddie loves spending her day with Gram and vice versa and Gram is always so sweet to prepare dinner for me and Clay after a long day at work. She's the best, the whole family looks forward to Wednesday's! Although it's hard to be at work and missing my baby girl, I know she's in the best hands!

The first two months...

Madelyn Jane was born on October 27, 2009 at 2:31 in the afternoon. She's our little ham, such a happy persona and sweet as can be. She's curious like her mom and easy going like her dad. We thank God everyday for her, our precious gift!

The first few weeks were like any other with a newborn baby...sleepless! Little Maddie had her days and nights confused for what seemed like forever (a week and a half) and Mommy and Daddy didn't get much sleep. We didn't care, I could have stared at her all day and night. After a few weeks, it was Thanksgiving- one of our favorite holidays! Maddie enjoyed her first Turkey Day!

Next up- Christmas!!! Maddie observed many holidays to only be 2 months old! She really enjoyed Christmas and got lots and lots of gifts!
